Pagans and Wiccans like to see themselves and be portrayed as simply people who follow their individual paths and lives. They tend to dislike anything that makes them appear organized. Unfortunately, this has caused the people and the religion much more hardship than necessary.

Many witches (and non-witches) say they are spiritual but not religious. They think that being religious locks them into an unchanging set of rules that serves only to bind them. I disagree with their understanding, though many are correct in their self-description.

The TLC cable channel aired a new episode of My Unique Family last night, featuring a family of witches. My wife (Bella) and I watched it, wondering how a relatively mainstream television channel would portray modern witchcraft.
